8/24/08 Had a great time kayaking on the Flowage. The weather was great and the accommodations were awesome. Can't wait to come back up again!!

8/7/08 Thank you so much for a beautiful stay! The place was great. The weather was good and the fishing was excellent. We caught a TON of walleyes. Almost caught a musky(it went after the walleye on my line next to the boat) The dogs loved swimming in the lake. We come here every summer and hope to be back again next year!!

7/25/08 Thanks so much!! We loved your cabin and really enjoyed the breezy back porch. The cousins all had a great time sleeping together in the bunk beds. We saw an eagle land at the point with a fish. Thank you again!!

1/10/08 We enjoyed the Chalet very much. We rode 500 miles in 5 days. It is our first trip to the Chalet but not our last. The place is very accommodating. Saw deer next door at night and within 30 ft of the cabin. We thank you very much for allowing us to use this great house.

9/4/07 We had an awesome time here the Chalet. We enjoyed the peaceful views, watching the loons on the flowage and howling wolf calls in the distance. We are planning on making the Chalet a yearly trip! Hoping the water level will be higher next time! Thank you for sharing!

7/28/07 This is our first trip to Mercer, we brought our ATV’s and rode 160 miles of trails. We rented a fishing boat, no luck fishing but enjoyed the lake. Our kids, age 11 & 7 enjoyed the beach area and noodles. Great home to enjoy our vacation & the immense wildlife- eagle, loons, ducks,deer, bears,turkeys, squirrels. Thank you for sharing!

7/21/07 My husband’s family has been coming to Mercer for almost forty years. This was our first time here at the Turtle Chalet. The cabin was excellent, the neighbors were great. The loons woke us up some mornings & sang us to sleep at night. Thanks for the memories, hope to be back again next year.

6/30/07 Ate at the Pine Lake Lodge and Gateway. Both places were excellent. Wives went Kayaking. Fishing was actually great! We found enough walleyes and plenty of smallmouth. Largest walleye was 18.5 inches and 19.5 inch smallie. The walleyes were 7.5 ft deep off the humps. The cabin beach was out of this world. Saw a loon on a nest. It had 3 eggs. We’ll be back!

06/16/07 Our 3rd visit-We love this place-Overall fishing was poor; weather hot and the lake level dropped at least 8 inches during our 3 week stay. We walked, rode our bikes to Mercer and back 6 times played golf and fished 3 times with our favorite guide Muskie Mel and thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. A great sight was an eagle forced to land right in front of us on the front lawn by harassing crows-Wow!! We’ll be back!!

5/9/07 Cabin and surroundings are great! Fishing wasn’t very good. The professional fisherman said it was because of the early spring in March-spawned too soon or some such story… Anyways lucky we could enjoy this beautiful cabin and fabulous view.
P.S. We recommend “The Pines” for dinner.

1/15/07 Thank you for a wonderful time during our annual “Winter Fun” weekend! Your cabin is so cozy & charming. The company is always the best. Since the weather was so warm in Chicago this year spending time in the winter wonderland was even more fun. Skiing at Powderhorn was both challenging & thrilling… We always enjoy going to the Hideaway & Gateway. But most of all spending time with friends & making wonderful memories is what’s most precious!!

8/25/06 Thanks for opening up your beautiful cabin to other families. It has been just perfect for our family. We enjoyed the sand beach, building castles and digging immense holes and loved the screen porch. We went canoeing & kayaking through Hawk’s Nest outfitters and a huge eagle flew within 10ft of our group, beautiful! Also enjoyed a loon family here in the cove. Drove the pontoon up the falls and only hit a couple of stumps the first time up….Oh, and my husband & kids enjoyed the fishing too!

8/19/06 Beautiful cabin! Had a wonderful week, nice weather. Fish didn’t bother us too much but caught a couple Walleye’s and a real nice follow on a musky(40+) Already looking forward to next year!

6/30/06 We had a very wonderful week here on the flowage. The weather was very cooperative though the fishing was slow-at least until the last day when I got my first look at a flowage muskie up close! The cabin is awesome and so is this area. We will look forward to another trip.

8/11/05 We enjoyed our stay here so much. You have a beautiful “Northwood’s Getaway”. The kids enjoyed the swimming & were well wore out & ready for bed each night. The fishing was good & our son’s girlfriend caught her first fish ever. It was so relaxing to wake up to the loon’s crying each morning. Thank you so much for sharing your “Turtle Chalet” with us. We have a week full of memories & pictures to go with it.

8/5/05 We had lots of fun fishing; we all caught Northerner’s in a small cove near the cabin. Very exciting! Our kids (9&11 yrs) really enjoyed the sand beach area far more than we anticipated. We also drove to Apostle islands for the day where we rented bikes. We loved the ‘Chalet” and the area. If only we lived closer! Thanks for providing the Chalet to us!
